Gonna have to invest in getting more of these cylindrical pots. For some reason the classic ones aren’t as porous and are also suffocating my roots. They were all potted at the same time and come from the same water propagation. The two on the right are still growing and pushing out new leaves but not at the same rate of their brother on the left.

Interesting. I have never noticed the difference due to shape. I like the look of cylinders better. Could be quality of the terracotta. I have several brands and still return to the one brand because of quality. Da’Vinci from Amazon.

I used a similar cylinder for an aloe several months ago and it really took off!

Totally on the same page as Phil! I have bought some other brands and found the quality is the issue. I use the same Amazon brand when possible.

Could it be that the classic ones are more porous, and that is the reason for the different outcomes? I can see the classic ones have more water deposits on the outside, which suggests they’re more porous, not less.
