August 2023 - August 2024 I observed that the younger leaves are more pinkish than the older leaves. What’s your experience with this plant? @biophiscape

I’ve found the same thing
1 likeit could be a few things it could be that the light the plant is receiving is too little for much variegation retention. if the plant gets a good amount of light, probably 8-12 hours, the need for chloroplasts in the plant lessens it could be that you are fertilizing it too much or too little. too much meaning that the plant has too little time to focus on each leaf’s development because of how fast growth could be coming. or too little that the plant doesn’t receive enough nutrients from water and soil that the need for more chlorophyll increases just to feed the plant it could also just be that as the leaves mature, they don’t stop developing chloroplasts which turn the leaves greener overtime
1 likeI’ve found that mine stay pretty pink, and the plant as a whole got so much more vivid when we moved into the spring and summer months. it is placed under a grow light for 8 hours a day and is fertilized once or twice a month
