This is my Bonnie spider plant, firstly how do I get her to put how curled leaves 🥲. Also I added keike paste to a node in the back on July 26th as an experiment, I’ve never seen anyone use this on anything other than pothos like plants. And to my surprise it actually worked!! Should I keep you guys updated ??

Congrats getting the new growth with the keiki paste. 🎉 I have many spider plants including 3 Bonnie curly varieties. Each curl to a different degree. The maximum curl happens when they are adequately watered and receive sufficient light and nutrients. Under watered spider plants get thinner leaves that droop and look less curly. The nurseries tend to pack more individual plants into a pot to get a fuller look. The first photo shows a plant I had that had over 20 plants in a 6 inch pot. Very hard to see the top of the soil. But, it showed the curliest look because of density. The biggest plants in the pot had loose curls. The many spider babies made it look curlier. This high maintenance plant required water every day, sometimes twice a day, in my zone 9a environment. Too much work. 😁 The second photo shows my two inch pot with 2 tiny plants in the red pot. It had 2 micro spider babies attached. The point I’m making is it’s faster to add more plants per square inch to really show the curly look than trying to make the leaves have tighter curls. Some plants have loose curls. Some have tighter curls even when both are healthy. 🪴🍀

Spider plants put out thick roots. They will put out a lot of energy to fill out a pot with roots before moving the energy towards the leaves and flower stems. They can live comfortably being root bound as long as water can adequately drain without causing root rot. The first photo of little red and the plant behind her shows the roots. This was taken about two years ago. Both plants are in the same pots today doing fine with a root system that would kill other plants. Second and third photos are of the red pot today I just photographed. The roots dried out because I kept them out of standing water. 😁
