S.RI just bought one a week ago about the same size and it also looks like this! I’ve been wondering the same 😂

LindseyThat’s actually the way new growth looks! When i got my first one, i trimmed this off, thinking it was dead growth 🤦🏻♀️…. Only to find out later, that’s the way they grow!
