I’ve had such a love-hate relationship with my Hoya Lisa. I’ve had it for almost a year and it spent its first 6 months with me dropping leaves 😅. I moved it to leca in January and it finally stabilized, but it never grew any new leaves. I moved it to a west-facing window last month, and it started to grow out its root system much more, and then last week started popping out leaves like crazy! It’s hard to see but there are 5 new ones on this stem, and another stem growing further down in the leca!

LECA is the best for Hoyas! Mine do awesome in it. However, they will be ridiculously slow growers unless you blast them with light. Mine receive anywhere from 700 to 1200 FC. If you want to see significant growth, you might need to get a grow light versus just housing him in the window 😣

My Lisa has never been happy. I generally figure out how to make a plant happy eventually, but not that one 🤷 I hesitate to look at how long I’ve had it lol. Maybe over a year, and it has dropped as many leaves as it’s grown 😮‍💨 Maybe I should try leca with it

Surprisingly, my Hoya Australis Lisa is low maintenance compared to several others that have already died. I’ve never repotted. It’s still in its 4” hanging basket. It started thriving when I added more light by placing it in a south window for winter. It put out new leaves in winter. It is outside, now, getting 5 hours of direct sunlight each morning and bright shade the rest of the day. Soil is the original coco coir and perlite it came in. I added osmocote fertilizer last year and miracle gro with Superthrive this year. (Planta is not allowing photo upload. Can’t show my Lisa Lisa!😄)
