My garden is thriving. But the palm tree is taking over. Scared that it will block sunlight. What do I do? One of my tomato plants are dying.

Wow! It’s still to early to plant me seeds yet and you already have red tomatoes. Lol You may already know this but tomatoes are prone to blight. They do not like their leaves getting wet and with the palm shading it probably doesn’t help. You could prune the tomatoes back. Spray was fungicide. Put mulch or straw at the base of the plant. Don’t let them touch each other as it can spread. Maybe succession plant a healthy piece in a brighter spot and only water the soil. Be mindful of the soil splashing up on the plant. Shouldn’t affect the taste of the fruit though.

0 LikesI’m not as familiar with palms as I am other trees, but when a tree gets really over grown and it’s on your property you can usually either buy/borrow a pole saw and trim it back (if you know what you’re doing) or hire an arborist to come trim it up - that’s usually the safest thing for you, your property and the tree. Personally I wouldn’t tolerate a tree sitting against my house like that for long because it could cause damage to your home during high winds or a storm, and it’s an easy pathway for pests to get up on (and eventually in) your house. Hope that helps!
