Hi, I use house plant potting mix from Home Base (in the UK), perlite and small stones. The soil is mostly stones and perlite with some soil, I would show you but the plant is covering it all. I push a wooden chopstick into the soil all the way down every 1.5-2 weeks when Planta tells me it's time to water and if the chopstick comes out with no soil on it and dry I water it but if it comes out wet or with wet soil stuck to it I don't water it. Also the plastic pot inside the decorative pot is shorter than the decorative pot, probably the plastic pot is 2 inches deep, and the decorative is about 3.5 inches roughly. Hope this helps and that it makes sense š
