Hello all, I have had this corn plant for a little over a month now and I was wondering if you could give me tips on how to help with plant care. I think she’s dying…

He should be getting indirect sunlight, and by the looks of the brown tips, he’s been getting too much. Cut off all the brown tips of the leaves to help him recover faster. You can also try rotating him often. You should water him every 7-10 days or when no moister is felt when a finger is placed about an inch into the soil.

Thank you so much! I’m gonna try this and see what happens. As far as sunlight… it’s 18 ft away from my window and doesn’t receive direct sunlight on this side of the house.. do you suggest I put it in the darkest corner of my room?

Cut the brown tips off as soon as possible. I would start misting it as well if you don’t already. You can try keeping it in the corner of your room, but that might be too little. 1. Cut the dead tips off 2. Start misting And it should be fine in that spot it is in right now if you do that

If it is that far, the crisping could be from some root issues that can come from lack of light. It may also be fussing because of the winter light and humidity changes. I don’t think it’s dying, but I do think you could do with some experimenting!

Pro tip : misting is pointless.

It really depends on the plant, some people do misting, others use a humidifier. It’s just to increase the humidity.

R.O. Water? I’m not familiar with this… I did buy it from Home Depot and it already had brown tips and has gotten worse. I thought it could have been because I took it out of a stable environment. I cut off the brown pieces and rotated the tree. Seems to be doing better? I did stop misting as I realized I was having issues with my other plants due to this. It is currently in a plastic draining pot.. do you think I should repot?

Also, do not mist your plants. It does more harm than good because misting increases the humidity only for a few minutes and goes back down to the original humidity After that. it’s the spike in high humidity and back to super low Humidity is what stresses the planned out most plants does way better in steady humidity rather than high and low. Humidity all the time.

Reverse osmosis water is just pure, clean water. It’s the chlorine and the hard water is why the leaves get brown the plant pushes all the chlorine to the tips.
