I already clocked 131 F outside on the patio; my courtyard provides about 40 extra degrees around 2pm. The point is that almost everyone is coming back inside. Surprisingly, everything kinda fits. Now please tell my partner that 30-pound plants are for Southern Cali. I’m kidding, but I have some big plants this year! Of everything in the outside cage, a couple are eating it up. My ghost almost needs a new pot.

It’s hot, but my courtyard amplifies the heat into Death Valley!

We had thunderstorms yesterday that started very suddenly and the wind turned into hurricane-like winds really quickly. I went to grab my potted Hosta, George, and he was literally missing from the deck. The pot was found under the grill, the dirt was completely gone, the wind reduced the poor guy straight to his roots and blew all the dirt away, and I found poor George hanging off the edge of the deck. The wind snapped a leaf off too in the violent pot-throwing process. The lil guy was LAUNCHED across the deck and nearly fell into the grass, likely never to be seen again if I hadn’t thought to grab him 😂 this is my PSA to grab your plant kids ASAP. I’d just repotted him 2 days ago, but I’m happy to report he seems ok and I’ve repotted him again (this is repot #4 for George. He’s my problem child.), so I’m hoping for the best. I’m from PA, so 131 sounds horrific to me, but we have the awful humidity to make up for the digits in the summer. It’s already 91 F here 😂

I’ve been through 3 major thunderstorms in spring knocking out power to 1 million homes each time. I’m on the Texas gulf coast. So, strong winds and heat follow. I’m concerned about severe tropical storm warnings that make me rush to move my plants from potential hail. I’ve had 3 broken ceramic pots from the high winds. Now, I wait for record breaking heat. Again. Like all of last July!⛈️

Wow! You can open a store if you could part with any of them.😄
