Just got my first orchid for my bday, so excited! Little miss is in a nursery pot don’t worry lol. If you have any tips I’d love to know!

    Nice color on that one! If the care tag mentions watering it with icd cubes, ignore it; that'd harm the plant. Never get water in the crown (where all the leaves meet) and if you splash there, dry it off. When watering, make sure to water directly on the roots. Once it's done blooming, you can trim the flower spike back at an unused node to try to convince it to reuse the spike, but if the whole thing dries and turns brown, you can cut it off. After it drops its flowers is also the best time to repot, which you should always do with new orchids to check root health and remove any weird packing materials from the store. These are grown in orchid bark, not soil. You can mix some sphagnum moss in if you need more moisture retention. Phalenopsis orchids generally need to be watered about once or twice a week.
