The family heirloom! š¤£ this plant is a cutting of a plant that was owned by my great grandmother. My aunt who keeps the mother plant flew five cutting from Los Angeles to Austin! She is thriving and more then a year old. Three times I have cut a foot or two of her vines of as she gets too long!
I think that is such an awesome idea, I wish I wouldāve thought about that 25 years ago when my grandmother passed. She had so many plants (a lot of them āsmuggledā in from Jamaica) and we just gave them all away. Imagine that, you are touching the same life that your great grandmother did, thatās beautiful! š„¹š„°

I recently gave my good friend a plant for his mothers funeral. We grew up together his mom was a second mom to me so instead of sending flowers I gave a plant and suggested that he tend to it in loving memory of his mother and for all the wonderful times our families shared together.

I have a plant that I have been tending for the past 12 years. It was given to me by friends when my dad passed away. I think of my Dad every time I see it or feed it. š„°
