I wanted to share a quick plant recovery story, because I’m so happy to see the progress! This is Rex, a pilea mollis, and I initially found him sad-looking at work. I wanted to see if I could recover him, and so I took him home on Christmas. A little more than a month later here he is all bright and happy!! He’s got a ton of little blooms as well! <3

I used to have one of these and the way they grow is so cool. I couldn’t keep up with the growth and watering needs sadly and it just got out of control. I always regret not propagating it before it got too late. Not sure if there are different types of these, like different color varieties, but I had mine under a grow light and the coloring got wild!

I just was thinking about if there were different varieties! I’m pretty sure there are, so I’ll do a little research today. Yours looked absolutely stunning though, and the flowers look pink! What color light was your true light? I hear different colors do different things with your plants.

According to the packaging it’s a a full spectrum light fixture that emits more light in the blue and red spectrum than the white. So it’s white, with like a kind of colored hue to it. It’s a Feit Electric Grow Light 19W 2ft LED. I don’t use these for all my plants, but I have had several of these under shelves for many years and my plants do well with them. At about 6” from the light my plants are getting about 1000 foot candles. My Hoyas in particular really seem to like it. My moon valley, if I remember correctly, was probably more like a full 12” away from the light.

Thank you for sharing, because I’m considering getting a grow light for my succulents. They’re kind of leggy and pale, so I don’t think they’re getting enough light. Sorry for the questions but I’m curious to know what you think.
