I got this idea off of tiktok. Now I’m just praying the fittonia survives. I love it, what do you all think?

I’ve seen Sydney Plant Guy on youtube grow Alocasias this way!

If you start having any mold issues, clean/sterilize the container and leca, add a plastic mesh between the sphag and the leca, and sterilize your new sphag by pouring boiling water over it (obviously let it cool before use). I've noticed sphag tends to get white mold. Distilled water can also help; fittonias aren't picky but it's good to know for when you try any more sensitive species
いいね 1件Thank you so much for these tips. I’m new to fittonia.
いいね 1件I’m curious if anyone can tell me why the leca and the moss? Isn’t one or the other fine or is there a specific reason for using both?
いいね 1件I was told that leca helps prevent root rot by allowing air circulation, and sphagnum moss holds water, reducing the need to water frequently. So they work together to create a breathable and balanced moisture retention environment that promotes root growth and reduces the risk of root rot.
