HELP! what am I doing wrong, I transplanted this peace lily out of soil into water over a month now and she will not thrive? I am constantly snipping of brown crunchy ends. She is adjacent to a south facing window and about a foot away from a grow lamp that only comes on for about 5 hrs per day.

    I’m gonna say too much light. Maybe either move it to a different window, or take away the grow light. At least till colder/shorter days. Mine is hydro, and about 6ft from a north facing window, no grow light for the season, and its foliage is thriving, it hasn’t put out a flower (probably because its not quite enough light to flower) but otherwise its super happy. I’ll add a grow light in a few months. Do add fertilizer to the water? If not, you’ll need to add an extremely diluted fert to the water for the plant to sustain itself in water.

    I don’t know much, but if you disturbed the roots when repotting, the plant may have problems for a while. That’s what happens to me. I don’t think roots should be trimmed away or touched at all when repotting.

    I highly doubt this is a light issue, as peace lilies do best in very bright indirect light. Sunburn has a very distinctive look, and this doesn’t look like it. I would check the roots for rot, and if there’s no rot, I would let it be. These also are going to need diluted fertilizer once a month, and since it’s growing hydroponically, I recommend changing out the water and checking the roots every 1-2 weeks.
