UPDATE & QUESTION: Had to move plants into the living room since I had to repot them. I keep the shades in the living room closed as I live in an apartment building that’s close to another building. I don’t like people spying on me. That’s just weird. They are close to the baseboard heater that is along the wall to the left of them. I keep the heater just under 60° in my apartment. As you know, it’s fall & winter season now. I did the doctor plant thing on here and it says that my aloe vera is over watered which I barely watered the plants anyway. So I just know not to water that one for quite a while. They have been repotted and in the living room for about two months now. I use Google for the ratio for planting soil and peralite and the cactus mix stuff when we re-pot according to each plant. Is it good and safe to keep the lights above it on 24 seven? I’m wondering if that’s what the plants need because I usually just turn them off when I go to bed at night and turn them on first thing in the morning.

Plants need darkness to do respiration, so its best to give them at least 8 hours of darkness. So what you’re doing is perfect!

Oh good I was so worried for a min 😏 thank you! I’m still so new at actually keeping plants alive 😆 this app is so helpful especially with the groups! Thank you so much!

Just remember the app is usually way off on the watering. Always too soon. So you need to check the plants yourself to see if they need water. ☺️

This! I came here to say the same. I use the apps watering schedule, but still check them on my own. There's been a few times the app was incorrect.

Couple things….those pots look much to large for those plants. You only want 1-2” larger than the root ball. That being said, I wouldn’t repot now (due to the time of year). A plant in a large pot mostly means you have to be careful with overwatering watering. You want to make sure the entirety of the soil is bone dry before watering your aloe again (use a wooden skewer and gently push it all the way to the bottom. Leave it for a minute and then pull it out. Dirt will stick at the level of moisture, you want a completely dry stick). You definitely want some time with your lights off, as the above person has said. The quality of your lights does play a big part in this however. The other factor is the heater being close, this will cause your plants to dry out quicker. This app is great, but can’t account for every persons specific environment conditions. I would check the soil every few days and either snooze watering tasks or complete a task early (depending on your soils moisture levels). I agree the app can be quite off sometimes, but I have it in both directions. Sometimes its way to frequently, and with some plants its not nearly enough.

I just have one more suggestion about your lights. Unfortunately those lights probably will not sustain your plants. They are too weak and you need full spectrum lights. Unless they are just supplementing direct sunlight coming thru a window.
