Does it need to be pet friendly?
0 Me gustaDoesn’t really matter. I don’t have any pets and I won’t for a while. But if it is, that would be awesome.
0 Me gustaBasically tell me your fav plant
0 Me gustaPeperomia’s are one of my favourite types. pet friendly and fairly easy care
0 Me gustaGood choice!
0 Me gustaRuellia makoyana is one of my favorites and it has not been difficult to care for. The problem is finding it. It gets pretty pink flowers and has white Veintian. Some pepperonias can be a little temperamental. I have a variegated spoon leaf that has been quite easy. Philodendron and peace lily are two other easy ones.
2 Me gustaGolden Pothos!! Epipremnum Aureum (there are imposters like Scindapusus… grow similar but not same species as a Golden Pothos and the varieties that come from it). Golden pothos are a pretty fast growing climbing/vining plant that gives you lots of fun ways to display them. Keep them in a pot, climbing a wall, or cascading from a macrame pot! They enjoy bright/indirect light but grow great, a bit slower, in low light too. Making it a great option for a large variety of rooms without much worry. They don’t mind if you forget to water them- by all means do! Too much water can easily be the culprit, but they’re very forgiving. Not a huge humidity need or special water requirement, tap will do. There’s also a ton of other varieties made from Golden Pothos to give you unique shapes/colors. Typically the more variegated (white) varieties need brighter light (not direct sun) to keep their color and grow slower (because white doesn’t have chlorophyll so less food factory space for the plant). What else… you can make a billon baby plants. The nodes are easy to see and water propagation is also easy. Put a node in water and forget about it for a few weeks. Move to a new pot for more plants or the same pot as the mother plant for a thicker look. Soil propagation is just as easy! Bury the node, water and wait!! By far my favorite! I have a Shangri Li, Moonlight and Dark Phase Scindapsus (imposter pothos), N’Joy, Neon and a global green. With a Cebu Blue, Snow Queen, Marbled Queen, Majula and Skeleton Key coming home next. ;p
2 Me gustaMy thoughts exactly. Can’t go wrong with a golden pothos.
0 Me gustaPothos. You can get a free cutting from a friend, family member or co-worker. They are relatively inexpensive compared to other tropical plants. They can live in lower light. They thrive in bright indirect light. Tradescantia Purple Heart💜 is low cost and easy care in a south or west sunny window. Spider plants. They like bright indirect light and like their soil to dry before watering. Heartleaf Philodendrons. Try philodendron Brasil or Lemon Lime. Both are low maintenance.🪴🍀
