A very common plant, but one of my favorites because she just looks perfect. My Peperomia Frost. Almost looks AI.

I’m new to my frost, but not peperomia. Would you happen to have any tips to share for keeping them happy this winter? 🥶
2 gillningarAll I can tell you is what I do. It’s a couple years old and has been divided several times. Last was this past summer. Always used shallow terracotta pots until this pot, which is ceramic. Shallow pots because the roots are very shallow. In a regular tall pot, bottom has no roots so stays wet far too long. I treat as a succulent, dries out completely before a drenching watering. Bright light, but discovered to be careful with my grow lights because she was getting too much and starting to burn. And fertilize when directed by Planta or a little more often.
4 gillningarThanks! I really appreciate the tips! Would you recommend giving it a small room humidifier now that it’s colder, or is that perhaps not necessary?
1 gillaDepends on your home. I run a couple humidifiers for my tropicals and of course the peperomia benefits from that.
1 gillaI’m in a newer home, but my peperomias are currently still in the windowsills, and seem to be expressing varying degrees of unhappy about it through edema, especially my watermelon peperomia in comparison to my hardier obtusifolias, so I’d like to prevent any problems with the peperomia frost if possible, but I’m new to using humidifiers for plants since I’ve never had anything with a humidity need until recently. The windows aren’t drafty, but the sill itself still gets pretty cold, so I figure I have to pull them back and put them on a table and push that in front of the window or get a humidifier to keep them where I can currently fit them.
0 gillningarI think coming back from the window is a good idea, if you are in area with snowy weather. I use to keep my props on the window sill but pulled them back when it started getting cold. I have them under a grow light. The window is well insulated but that area still tends to get cold.
1 gillaShe’s gorgeous 😻
1 gillaThese are so underrated. Mine is so fluffy and full of life.
