since some people are so butthurt over being wrong they delete comments, as plant owners we should always be cautious of the terms we are using to identify our plants. This plants nickname is “dumb cane” which is extremely offensive when you take the 2 seconds needed to google why it is called that. With the way the world revolves around us being chronically online, we all have the time and resources at our literal fingertips to research. So for those in this group that want to get so uptight over being uneducated, you’re literally on a plant app where numerous people constantly comment that, GOOGLE IS FREE. Some people seriously don’t understand that this app is for serious growers that don’t want to see childish comments and behavior. Stop posting nonsense when you don’t even take a second to think, “maybe i can easily find this answer on google” seriously people.

Thank you for sharing this. Some people are just not aware and initially call it by their “common name” until they learn more about it. It’s best to just call plants by what they are (dieffenbachia, tradescantia, etc.). Calling plants by their common name can lead to misunderstanding such as the “satin pothos” or “mini monstera”. Sharing or searching for this knowledge is such a huge help in knowing our plants and how to best care for them 🪴✨

🤣 nooo…we’re all learning and sharing. I killed 4 succulents, 3 air plants, and 1 palm tree before I got to where I am. Even then, I’ll be learning about Rex begonias and cut flowers I can grow next. You might know more about different Hoyas than I do. Just different knowledges and experiences 🪴✨
