This will either be my greatest plant yet, or a terrible idea! So excited to take in this beautiful Alocasia Polly 🌿

    They really are a great plant, lol. Here’s what I wish I knew when I first started: First off, they don’t like to be moved. Find a spot with pretty great lighting and sit her down! Secondly, they hate their roots being messed with. I don’t recommend corm digging in these. They will give you plenty of babies, lol! Don’t worry. Lastly, all acacia are spider mite magnets. If you can have this plant in 60 to 70% humidity, you shouldn’t have to worry about bugs. That’s all I got! I wish you the best of luck with yours! I’ve had mine for about three years, and I love her so much!

      Thank you so much! I did repot her already as I wasnt happy with her store soil (staying wet too long) other than that shes been nicely settled and is kicking out 2 new large leafs so we're off to a positive start 🙌

    On a positive note, I have seven alocasias, and I have never dealt with them having mites. Many people have spider mite issues with them. In fact, just thinking about it, I don’t think I’ve ever treated them for pests. Whereas some of my succulents seem to attract a few mealy bugs now and then. My Polly was my first alocasia a few years ago. She’s going into dormancy currently. Every year.
