What number of plants can you have before you become a plant hoarder? When do I need to get help? Getting plant #23 this weekend! Any recommendations?

    I must really need help if you are worried about 23 plants. I have 161 down from 200 of a few months ago. Vast majority are succulents so they take up much less space.

    Too many is when you have so many that you can't take care of them, they're interfering with your life, or you're tripping over them. There's no number limit as long as they fit your lifestyle. I've met a guy who downsized to over 4,000 orchids. When he got to a certain point he just decided to prop and sell them for a living. He's the go-to guy for mini orchid species for multiple states

    It’s highly individual. For me 30 is the ceiling, 20 is probably a sweet spot. Why? Because I get stressed and overwhelmed taking care of larger numbers. Meanwhile some people can happily manage hundreds. It’s only hoarding when you don’t have the capacity to look after everything. Procrastinating or forgetting to water. Or if you keep spending on plants while everything else in your life is financially falling apart, etc. If looking after the plants brings you joy and you are managing your finances reasonably then you are all good, you are within your limit. Also, your plants look great! What’s the big beauty in the first photo? 😍

    When there isn't any more room to put a plant but you still buy some and try to keep making room for them. That's when you have to stop. Wait, does that make sence? lol

      This!! This is my problem. I started adding them to my daughter's room. (Who is now a student/adult and doesn't live with me any more)
