Not my plants but itâs a piece of my heart. My sister sent me pics of Gmaâs dendrobium orchids and Momâs heliconia BoP. Iâm home sick and sure miss being able to grow tropicals outdoors and not worry about them. #islandliving đŽđ

That cascade of flowers! đ€© I went to an orchid show earlier this year, which was spectacular of course. But seeing them grow outdoors must be something else entirely! Wow. I live in New England and our native orchids are much more modest lol. But I still love them. I would be homesick for them too if I moved far away

Oh that sounds fun! I havenât had the opportunity to go to an orchid show yet but canât wait. Back home they fix orchids to coconut husks and strap them to papaya trees or any suitable spot. Youâre quite right, nothing beats seeing plants grow to their full potential and I miss it but I have definitely adapted. It was a tough transition for me with plants when we moved to the states 13 years ago. I remember being annoyed at the changing seasons until I started teaching myself about evergreens, semi-tropicals, natives and succulents outdoors in 2016. Come 2018 I started reintroducing tropicals back into my life. Thereâs so much to be adored âșïž
