I just got this plant, I don’t know what type it is. But I don’t know if it needs repotting since it’s looks congested with its vines inside of the pot. Also if I do repot it does it need to always be a drainage pot?

i would repot in a 1” to 2” bigger pot (diameter) and it deffo needs drainage. i like to put chunky soil/rocks at the bottom to ensure proper drainage. what a gorgeous girl & i would fertilize asap to avoid anymore drying leaves

Cut the dead leaves and add 50% diluted fertilizer twice a month in summer. The vines are not congested. New growth don’t spring up from the soil. The grower placed several plants in a hanging basket to give it a fuller look.l and help them sell faster. Inconsistent watering can cause the leaves to dry out.
