Wow! This is so interesting, what are air plants?

They appear to grow “in the air” as they don’t have roots

Some actually do grow roots! I have quite a few with air roots 😊 they help to cling to things!

Copied from google! Air plants are a variety of Epiphytes, meaning they need no soil to develop. They actually do call for a platform to commence growing. These plants are not parasitic and use their host for a method of support. The plant receives its nutrition within the moisture and dirt fibers drifting in the air

Woah! So lovely! You must be an air plant expert with so many beautiful babies! I just got my first air plants. Im excited to see them grow! How long you soak them for? Have you had them flower before?

My biggest one is my OG girl 🥹 I’ve had her 4 years and yes I have had 3 flower!!! One has produced 5 babies for me and my other has given me 2! I fill up my bowls with hot tap water and let them sit out for at least an hour. This creates a nice temp for them and not shock. You don’t want the water to be cold! I soak for 30 minutes once a week and make sure they completely dry out before they go back to their homes. Most of these were bought off amazon!

Then they dry upside down on a towel 🥰 I also spray fertilizer on them once a month!

Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge! The warm water is a great tip that I really didn’t think about. Do you mist them at all? I have mine hanging upside down (one of those jellyfish arrangements) so hopefully they won’t rot in the middle 🤞 One of mine looks like it might flower and a YouTube video I watched said to cut it or your plant will die. It’s good to know that is not necessarily true. I’m sure your fertilizing helps with that too! Thank you for sharing!

Oh you’re so welcome! I only soak for 30 minutes also! I don’t mist, but I don’t mist any of my plants. I have mine in all kinds of fun holders so I’m sure it will do great! Just make sure it’s completely dried out before u put them back in their home for the week 🥰

And I thought I had a lot 😂 Nice collection! I accidentally damaged a few of mine this week 😪 I left them wet after watering because I was overwhelmed with work and chores. I hate to have ruined a year or more of good growth, but at least they’re not dead

I feel like these guys are super mighty!! My biggest one rotted in the center a while back but she has since regrown! Trust me I have had my share of mistakes with these guys! But I find them very forgiving so give yours time and don’t give up!! 🥰💕
