I came out to my sun porch to water my plants this morning & noticed some mushrooms growing in my bird of paradise pot. So cute! 🥹 Does anybody know what kind they are/are they safe to leave in the pot? Thanks!!

I have had these grow in the soil of some of my alocasias, I usually do take them out because it is a fungi. Although I have read it is a sign of a healthy plant. I get them when there is high humidity/rainy seasons (I live in Florida.)
1 LikeI was doing a bit of research & read that it’s typically okay to leave them & they can sometimes be beneficial to have them coexist but some people do choose to remove them. Have you ever just left them alone/did they spread a lot if so? That makes sense, I read that they can not only appear when they’re happy & healthy but also from humidity & overwatering. The weather here (Baltimore, Maryland) has been super hot & raining a lot on & off the last week, which I’m sure has created a bit of humidity on my sun porch since I leave some of the windows open. Thanks!! 🫶🏻
1 LikeI have let them grow for a few days before removing and I’ve noticed they do grow/spread fast. Pretty cool looking when they do.
0 LikesThey would probably give it carbon dioxide
0 Likesthat’s exciting (: i tend to leave my little mushrooms and i have not noticed any spreading but everyone’s environment is different! you are correct about it being a sign of a good environment and ecosystem for your plant. maybe just something to keep an eye on until you decide what you want to do (: i personally try to let me plants do their thing and enjoy their cute little gift 🍄‍🟫
