This is my orchid that I saved from my grandmothers house. My grandma died a year and a half ago now from cancer and she had a more than a couple plants in her house that were neglected for months because she came to live me and my family before she died. A lot of them didn’t make it through those months but her orchids were in ok shape I was only able to take one home which is the one I have I call her sweet tart which is a play on my grandmas nickname which we only ever called her by “Sweetie”. This is sweet tarts second time staring to flower which I don’t doubt she will, her first flowering happened within a month of me taking her I was told then she’s probably doing that as a last chance before dying which made me feel pretty bad. But she didn’t die she thrived, even when all of her roots were rotted she kept pushing forward and I wanted to share that because in a way she symbolizes the grief I went through and she also deserves her spotlight.
