I just got my new baby in the mail. Meet Ripple. I hope I don't kill it. š¬ It seems to be in some really dense soil, but I know I shouldn't transplant it right away. Control yourself girly! š

My go to thinking with new plants is, if the soil is dense and soaking wet, very dry, mouldy, or I just donāt like it I repot immediately, repot stress is better than root rot stress imo.
2 gillningarI second this. I take it slightly further, I always repot new plants I bring home as soon as they come in my house. I would much rather deal with some replant shock than leave them in a medium that isnāt conducive to my environment. I also want to know what the roots of my new plants look like/root ball size. Iāll upsize/downsize accordingly. Iāve found I have much better success with my plants if I set them up right from the start. And if my new plant doesnāt survive that process, then it wasnāt meant to be apart of my collection :)
3 gillningarThis!! Thereās lots of incorrect fear mongering in this hobby, it doesnāt help when google and other sources give the most robotic unhelpful responses too
2 gillningarThank you for the input. Repotting immediately. I believe it will relieve some stress wondering what the heck is going on in that soil! š
