Slightly embarrassed, but could anyone tell me what kind of plant this is and if it can be revived? I’m a newbie and this was left unattended. I’m working to get my green thumb going. Help, please?!

Don’t be embarrassed at all! We all gonna learn and all still are❤️ Looks like a Dracaena fragrans or a Corn plant! I’ve not had great luck with them tbh lol. I only had one as a beginner when I first started loving plants but I think my main problem was over watering! All that to say, if it dies lol you’re not alone😂 Some people have better luck and worse luck with certain plants❤️ My advise is that if the roots are in good shape then she should grow. I can’t tell how big the pot it by the angle but big jumps in pot size sometimes can slow growth down for a bit, but nothing to worry about. You are doing an amazing job! The substrate looks great! The leaves will take time to grow 🌷
3 J'aimeThank you so much! I repotted the plant, we’ll see if it helps!
2 J'aimeLooks like mines a corn plant
1 j'aimeI’m pretty sure it’s a dracaena. I also saw some people in the comments say it might be a corn plant but I don’t think so because of its stem pattern and leaf color. I’d take off those bottom dead leaves and maybe repot it to a smaller pot with different soil. The soil looks a bit dead and dry. If you’re not comfortable with repotting which is totally fine I’d give it some water because it looks very dry. It’s totally fine to be new to plants and I’m just glad you are now giving it the care it needs :)
0 J'aimeThank you, Melody! I repotted the plant, I’m hoping it helps. 🤞🏾
0 J'aimeCorn plant is an alternative name it is still a dracaena
0 J'aimeIt's dracaena, hates chlorine, chloramine and lime in tap water. I advise rain water only.
