Do you think my plant will be ok in this space? I am new to all things plants and am loving my new hobby so far! I don’t want to kill it 😬😅

I don’t know what is it as I am orchids person, but I would check the light requirements for your plant online. Just do some research.

Lots of bright light but no direct sun! I sunburnt mine this summer. They like their soil to dry out between waterings. They don’t like drafts or being moved. I’d recommend finding a suitable spot and leaving it. They are also a plant that develops a lot of buildup on their leaves so I wipe mine down pretty frequently.

This is a **Rubber Plant** (Ficus elastica), and it looks healthy! To help it thrive even more, here are some care tips for your friend: ### 1. **Light**: - Rubber plants love **bright, indirect light**. If possible, place it near a window where it gets lots of natural light, but avoid direct sunlight, as it can scorch the leaves. ### 2. **Watering**: - Keep the soil **evenly moist** but not soggy. Water when the top inch or two of soil feels dry. In winter, you can reduce the watering frequency since growth slows down. ### 3. **Humidity**: - Rubber plants appreciate some humidity but can tolerate average room conditions. Misting the leaves occasionally will help, especially if the air is dry. ### 4. **Temperature**: - Rubber plants prefer temperatures between 60-75°F (16-24°C). Avoid drafts, heaters, or air conditioners that can stress the plant. ### 5. **Cleaning**: - Dust can accumulate on the leaves, so wipe them down with a damp cloth occasionally to keep them clean and allow them to absorb more light. ### 6. **Fertilizing**: - Feed the plant with a balanced liquid fertilizer once a month during the growing season (spring and summer). No need to fertilize during the winter months. ### 7. **Repotting**: - Repot the rubber plant every couple of years or when it becomes root-bound. Choose a pot that’s slightly larger and ensure it has proper drainage. With these tips, the rubber plant will continue to thrive and grow beautifully!
