The Black Magic colocasia is settling in very nicely at its new home š„° it has 5 sprouted corms at the base that already have multiple leaves! So exciting. Also, the white powdery-ness on the leaves is just water residue from the greenhouse that I need to wipe off with a foliage cleaner ! If you havenāt already been to Wentworth greenhouse in New Hampshire I HIGHLY recommend . They truly have the best selection of any and all of the types of plants you can think of š±š«¶š»
Omg I didnāt think Iād see someone else on here mention Wentworthās! š± It is a fantastic greenhouse. I havenāt been in a few months since I moved slightly further away. It was dangerous when I was living less than 20 minutes from them š
0 Likes I didnāt think anybody would know where Iām talking about! Itās my favorite green house! My boyfriend also lives not far so itās risky business šš
1 Like Haha yeah, be careful š When I lived closer, I was living with my now-ex boyfriend š Apparently he was serious when he said that I have too many plants š But in all seriousness, that wasnāt the real problem in the relationship, just a scapegoat reason. Iāve had an equally large collection of plants since he first met me, so itās not like it was a surprise 2 years later š¤Ŗ But at the risk of being a bad influence on you, I have some other NH plant shop recommendations if youāre interested š
1 Like LMAO thatās completely valid. Plants come first, you got your priorities straight! Haha. But omg yes I would love some recommendations!!
1 Like Studleyās in Rochester has good selection and great prices. They have a lot of small plants for those who like to buy small and cheap to grow it out they way they want. Itās not a scenic greenhouse though, pretty tight space and not wheelchair accessible if thatās a factor for you Thereās a Gardenerās Supply Co store in Greenland. Thatās good for supplies, as the name suggests. They also have outdoor and house plants. Last time I was there they had anthuriums, which I donāt see often I havenāt been to Root Rot in East Hempstead yet, but it looks fun. The Plant Shop in Derry has cool rares and smalls. Fish Mikeās in Manchester is an aquarium and terrarium store thatās a cool visit. They have very interesting terrarium plants and rares. The Terracotta Room is also in Manchester. Theyāre a boutique with gem stones and clothes too. On the pricey side, but nice for fancy gift shopping Fizzhome in Bedford is on my visit list for sure. The local Facebook plant group Iām in talks about them all the time and I think the owners are active in the group too. They have outdoor and indoor rares. Sometimes they do facebook live auctions Osborneās in Hooksett is a hardware store but they stock nice rares! The Potting Shop in Laconia is another I havenāt been to yet but they look awesome with plenty rares. Last one I can think of lol, Knotted Finds in Merrimack is a plant-focused boutique with some rares, fun gifts, and is right next to an Asian grocery market if youāre into that š New Hampshire might not have the premium conditions for growing tropicals, but weāve got quite a few plant shops owned by great dedicated people āŗļø
