This is my latest acquisition. I am wondering if I should separate each section. I bought it thinking it would good in a terrarium. I’m also wondering how fast they grow. It must be very young because it does not have a bulbus trunk yet.

Personally, I definitely would separate out each section and put each section into its own individual pot. They are very young because they don’t have their trunks yet and depending on the lighting will depend on how fast they grow.

Yeah, agree it’ll be good to eventually separate them. No rush though, they are very slow to grow. They’re also fine to be a little crowded. Mine is a couple years old after separating from the mother. Eventually, they’ll each grow a caudex to store water. When the caudex starts to shrivel, that’s when you want to water. Would definitely discourage putting in a terrarium. Even though their common name is ponytail palm, they are not palms, they’re succulents. Thus, they want lots of sunlight, little humidity, and their soil to dry out.
