Good luck. But I honestly don’t think it will work because they will be constantly moist.

Yes but the soil does not get over watered, I think it will work

I am experimenting to see if things can work out, I find the self watering pot like the one I am using does not over moisture the soil, so I am trying out things to beat the odds.

These are a succulent and they like to dry out between waterings, so a self-watering pot may keep it too wet. But, I hope she thrives for you!

Succulents prefer to dry out completely before being watered again. A self watering pot would be best for things that like to stay constantly wet like nerve plants, bulbophyllum orchids, etc. although you have a plant that has survived for 5 months with this set up it is far from thriving. Your plant is already showing signs of root rot. Notice how the leaves are wrinkled. It’s actually a sign of under watering, why? Because the roots are rotting and cannot take in water. Keep your succulents in a well draining soil and water only when the soil is completely dry.

I have this same succulent!! It came with 6 in one pot. I was a dummy and had no other plants at first, and left it outside year round for almost 2 years. Unable rain wind etc! I never watered it. It was fine and perfect. Then I noticed the soil was all compacted and some leaves were rotten underneath. I carefully separated them all and repotted each in their own little pot a year ago. They didn’t like that and did exactly what yours is doing how it looks like a pine tree on the bottom leaves pointing down. This means it’s trying to get more light. You want full bright light but not hot direct sunlight because they burn and get crispy like our skin would. You’ll never get those leave to point back up, unfortunately. What you need to do is take each one of this downward pointing leaves off carefully. You can put them in new soil on a plate or cookie sheet and mist/water every few days and they’ll start to get roots. After the roots are big enough you can plant them separately or together. I’ll post a link to a video that will show you step by step!! Your original plant will be smaller but add more soil up to the base so it’s covered. Don’t water it very often. And put it in bright full light. Hope this helps.

Colin the video on You Tube is: “How To Fix A Leggy or Stretched Succulent!” By Garden Answer. It’s a 6 minute video. It’s what I used when my exact same succulent you have did this!!! And the video is that exact succulent too!!! I had 50 leaves to remove off of my plant and only a few rooted over time. In the end I only got one plant out of it. Even if you get none, you’ll be able to help your mother plant!!!
