IKEA haul! 🫶🏼🥰🫶🏼 Also… question… ⬇️ Do you take the healthiest/biggest/beautifulest plants at a store or do you get the sadder ones to save them?

    I hope to have a plant space solely for rescued plants but I can’t take that risk atm. After a long hard fight with spider mites and scale on a BOP from IKEA I don’t trust big box/groccery stores anymore 😅 lol

    I only get a rescue plant if it’s a really good deal, like around $5. If it costs more than that, I think it’s not worth the stress of rehabbing it.

    There’s a subreddit for plant trades, /r/TakeAPlantLeaveAPlant. It’s a good way to get new plants without spending $. You can propagate your plants to offer as a trade

    I want the healthiest plant they sell. I will only buy a discontinued plant if it’s healthy. I fought mealybugs and spider mites on several plants that I got from a discount shelf. Not worth the hassle.

    I dont always take the biggest/beautifulest ones, as long as theyre healthy and got character, its good for me! heres one of my succs: its not the prettiest, but I still love it ahaha

    Depends tbh hahaha. As much as I love a big and beautiful plant, sometimes I see one in need and just can’t help myself

    The big box shops in my area tend to be pretty bad at caring for plants, so I honestly consider most plants I buy from them to be rescues 😂
