I thought I was stupid picking a calathea as my first plant 🪴 it was 19cm I bought her! I’m standing on tip toes to take photos & new leaves seem to be coming through every couple of days! had a mist & fertilised today x

that’s a beautiful, bushy calathea. i must add though, the stems are so long because your plant isn’t getting enough light.
1 LikeI keep it in the brightest room opposite a window, do you think maybe a grow light near it may help it not be so leggy?

if you can move it closer to the window that might work. calathea appreciate a little bit of gentle direct light, like a few feet back from an east or west window, or a south window with a sheer curtain. right in a north facing window might be enough light if it’s particularly bright. (if you’re in the southern hemisphere, swap north and south) if the new growth continues to stretch a grow light may be necessary for compact growth. not totally necessary by any means though, as your calathea is clearly happy despite lower light
