The journey to my home for this syngonium rayii (dark form) almost ended dead on arrival in July! The summer’s heatwave almost finished it. I thought it had about a 10 percent chance of survival if some the roots were alive. Fortunately, it very slowly recovered. I kept it slightly under watered. The leaves are thin with a velvety texture on top. It’s recommended if you like touching tradescantia baby bunny bellies! It’s very soft with a paper like backing. The plant stays relatively small with a height of 8 inches when fully grown. So, it’s recommended for a terrarium (per Steve’s Leaves website). It’s slow growing compared to other syngoniums. It’s not finicky. I repotted it in September in a homemade hoya mix ensuring quick drainage with very little soil. It works for this plant. It sits on my north facing kitchen window. Now, I’m only getting long vines with no leaves. I’m considering adding a grow light and moving it elsewhere.
