Mine stayed alive in the winter where I live. I live in California.

Indiana here. They won’t make it. But I can’t bring myself to watch them just die! Going to bring a bunch in

Also Indiana here and I have TONS of tradescantia that are absolutely thriving indoors! They won’t survive winter outside but if you bring them in over winter, you can definitely keep them alive and happy!!

yes. the purple “ground cover” ones are so easy to bring inside and repot. They grow like a weed! Amazing and very easy to propagate

👋 hi from Indiana as well 👋 A trick for bringing outdoor plants inside for the winter: humidifier + plant light. The light will give the outdoor plants the rays it needs to compensate for the dark, cold winter days & the humidifier will beat the Indiana dryness. Good luck 🍀

Also just be prepared for them to look a little sad for the first couple weeks, maybe a month. My tradescantias have definitely tried to fake me out like they weren’t going to make it but I stuck with it and they were just throwing hissy fits because I moved them (brought them home from the store or whatever).

I’ll be sure to give them a fighting chance and a stern talking to!

And make sure you debug them before bringing in. A good rinse and a little dish soap in spray bottle (diluted) if you will be planting in new soil.
