MamaJujuFuneral homes. They always have tons of left over plants they can’t get rid of and end up trashing them.

SunnyAsk permission before taking broken pieces of plants from a store. Breaking off pieces in public is destroying private or government property. Not worth getting a police record to save a few dollars. I found if you ask coworkers, friends, family and even neighbors many will give away free plants and tell you the best way to care for them. Plant people love talking about plants!

Plant Lives MatterYes, I’d add don’t take plants from parks or basically any outdoor space unless you have permission. This can be considered poaching which is obviously illegal. Also, any plant you take that occurs naturally outdoors to put indoors reduces that plant’s population in nature, so it’s generally frowned upon. Unless of course it’s an invasive species like Hedera helix.

GwendolynAbsolutely ask permission (yes 😞 proplifting is stealing). But in my experience most workers at stores have no problem with you taking props/cuttings/pieces from the floor once you ask. 😁😁

Fern <3Free: Propagate, Take plants from the wild (IDENTIFY THE PLANT FIRST AND CHEDK IF ITS LEGAL!!!) asking friends and family. Cheap: clearance racks, buying seeds of plants or young plants!
