My Tillandsia Capitata Red. At least, that’s what I think it is. Planta doesn’t know. Does anyone have any insights? Thanks ahead of time! 🙏

That’s very interesting! I’ve had this one for a few months and originally thought it was spray painted, but I think it’s grown two new leaves since then that have red coloring. But I honestly can’t say those leaves weren’t already there—just smaller. I’m going to keep an eye on her and see what happens. Thanks so much! 🙏

I’ve been told the same thing about the painting of plants. I hope yours is legit. It really striking.

I have a feeling the paint they use on airplants is safe and allows for photosynthesis, unlike the straight up wall paint they slap on succulent’s at home depot. Mine have grown a lot of new green leaves and have no problems even though i’ve had to accept the color is not real. From what i understand, a pink flush is only color thats real, and i have some that do this right before they push out blooms (kinda like a woman’s moon lol), and its only temporary. Sure is pretty when it happens! Heres my painted beauty (had it about a year):

Oh this blush one might be a real blush! If the pink comes and goes you will know its real. If it stays indefinitely its paint.

She was big when she arrived. With my other air plants, I give them plenty of light and mist them twice a day when the humidity level is below 40%. Between 40% and 60%, I give them a light misting once a day, and above 60% I mist them twice a week. Hope this helps!
