Donât be too scared when they loose their older leaves. They have a high leaf turnover đ They will look sparse during the winter, grow lights, cutting back on water and increasing the humidity can help. They need lots of nutrients AND light in order to thrive. Very sensitive to overwatering. And last, but not least, always keep an eye out for spider mites. They love Alocasias. One more thing! They are very addictive 𫣠I had a long period of collecting Alocasias and it was one of the best times in my life đ Best of luck!

Thank you so much for the tips! Iâm actually getting my humidifier and grow light in tomorrow. I have fish based fertilizer. Is that good to use? Iâve always heard the spider mites love them. So I constantly wipe the leaves and keep a close eye on them. My addiction started with my huge elephant ears that I have so now Iâm on the look out for all kinds of alocasias

Sounds great! The fish fertilizer should work well. I know a lot of house plant growers that uses it. Otherwise a balanced all round fertilizer works as well đ Cool! They are such fast growers!
