genuine question here; i’ve seen a lot people call pothos pathos, it’s very confusing, i look up pathos on planta and all that comes up are pothos. so why do people say/spell it pathos?

Seriously though, this was on Wikidiff . Com: “As nouns the difference between pathos and pothos is that pathos is the quality or property of anything which touches the feelings or excites emotions and passions, especially that which awakens tender emotions, such as pity, sorrow, and the like; contagious warmth of feeling, action, or expression; pathetic quality while pothos is species: Epipremnum aureum, a vine widely cultivated as a houseplant, once classified in the genus genus: Pothos.”
