Best tip is that all plants require drainage. No drainage will result in root rot

only if i overwater it. im using the right soil and recommended light. i know the risk thanks so much, couldn’t afford to buy a new pot with it

Repotting immediately, no drainage, and using a pot that’s too big are all potentially harmful things :(

its literally three inches bigger. its much happier now. no need to be sad for my plant lmfao! everyone likes to keep their plants root bound as ever and i dont think plants like that.

I wasn’t trying to offend you. I understand your reasoning. You just asked for tips.

Some plants prefer to be a bit root bound before repotting, and usually when repotting you don’t want to go more than 1-2 inches than the root ball otherwise you risk root rot, which only gets exacerbated by planting in a pot without drainage (there’s plenty of resources here and online to explain why). I usually keep the nursery pots and then use the ceramic pots or whatever the nursery pot fits in as a cover/catch pot so it still looks nice lol

You actually do need drainage even if you water perfectly. You don’t need a new pot. Just drill/puncture holes into the current pot. You need well draining soil, Add extra perilite and/or and orchid bark. Make sure plenty of drainage. It won’t flourish if it is too wet and doesn’t drain well. After I did this to mine it got very happy. My white Variegated one is now 4.5 ft tall and my burgundy is about 3 ft and bushy.
