Just water in a vase! I have success with growing plants in only water so when I was having trouble figuring out the watering needs due to the soil my snake plant was in, I decided to move it to water. I cut off the soil roots and water roots grew quickly.

Im new to this.. if you don’t mind, how would I do that? Cut all the roots off ? Or rinse them?

I rinsed them first, but the main reason I cut them off is because my snake plant’s roots had rotted (due to severe underwatering). When you move a plant to water that has been in soil, the soil roots will die off and new water roots will grow. Since my plants roots were no longer serving a purpose I figured it wouldn’t hurt to cut off all of the dead roots (which happened to be all of them lol)! Lmk if that makes sense

The important thing to know is I did not cut off the rhizomes (the thick root structure in this picture). I only cut off the small roots that grow from the rhizomes :)
