Question, why does Planta suggest misting my snake plant? That’s not a good idea right? I have a petit cylinder snake plant potted with a couple other succulents.

To my knowledge, snake plants don’t like being misted.. and neither do succulents! I don’t know why planta is telling you to do that 😅 So weird!!

Okay good. I always skip that task. Didn’t seem like a good idea.

The advice part of the app seems to broad. Online search says it’s ok to mist if you want but totally unnecessary.

I know that Planta talks about misting being important for cleaning and removing dust. Dust buildup can affect photosynthesis. But I wouldn’t mist succulents! They don’t like it.

I agree! I'd send a message to planta and ask them to adjust that for snake plants at least. You wipe off a snake plant to clean it, you don't mist it. There is a place on the plant information screen that gives you the option to ask planta to make corrections in the app. They are very responsive. Misting could cause rotting problems on some snake plants and succulents.

Oh! I hadn’t noticed that. I’ll do it!

I just simply turned off misting reminders entirely. After researching that misting only raises humidity for like a 1/1000 fraction of time and basically foes nothing to help your plant and just invites mildew and fungus issues. I know this is a controversial subject but there it is. The only thing i ever mist is my air-plants but that is the way they get watered.
