found this beautiful philodendron (says it on sticker) from IKEA for $20 thinking of repotting tomorrow, not sure to repot in the same size of container or a bigger one, what should I do? Also going to quarantine for a week, there’s no visible issues or pests. Always gotta be cautious! She’s so beautiful tho aaahhhhh ! any one has tips ?

personally i’d hold off on reporting for a week or two so the plant can get acclimated to its new environment. if the roots aren’t poking out of the top or bottom of the pot, it most likely won’t need to get a bigger pot. hope this helps :)

As much as the sticker says philodendron, it looks like a Monstera deliciosa

I agree with Kraig, It’s showing some fenestration.

Also looks like you will want to clean off the leaves with some mild Castile soap to remove the residue on leaves which will allow the plant to better photosynthesize.

Yeah it looks like a monsters but a monsteras are actually related to philodendrons.

Thank you !! I was thinking the same, I kept trying to find a specific name but ended up classifying it a monstera. Do you use a certain brand of soap ? This would be my first tall plant if you have any more tips!

I actually use a product called Leaf Wellness which is made by a company called The Plant Bar Co. they also have a natural pest control product called Dead AF. But you can find Castile soap by Dr. bronners or most pharmacies will have it on the shelves.

Make a very light dilution of the Castile soap in water to spay on your plants leaves.
