Curious about the browning edges on some of the leaves on my prayer plant. Any suggestions on potential underlying issue and/or solutions?! It is only a few of the leafs but this is the worst spot.

Hi Jruiter 👋 I think your plant might be having some minor roots issues. When was the last time you repotted it? And what type of soil does it grow in? How moist is the soil currently? ☺️ Oh, and your plant have been misidentified. It’s a Goeppertia orbifolia. But it belongs to the same family as Maranta leuconeura, and has similar needs.

I repotted about 2 months ago. Is it maybe time for some fresh soil?

if it's a calathea i know mine get brown edges if i water them with water straight from the tap.. they either like filtered water or tap water that's been sitting for a while so the chlorine & other minerals dissipate

How long do you typically let your water sit? Mine has this issue and letting the water sit has been helpful, but I still can’t get the new leaves to unfurl

i usually let it sit for at least an hour, im sure the longer the better but i am impatient! if the new leaves are taking a while to unfurl you should start misting them or maybe get a small humidifier
