I’m a 17 year old girl and didn’t realize i was into gardening until i joined a school that had a greenhouse class. I planted my first plant at home about a month ago January 11. I’m growing paperwhites, at first they were growing a normal pace but then one day they took off. I was coming home to an inch of new growth everyday for about 3 days. Then i went to my boyfriend for about 2 days without seeing my plant. Once i came home one of them had bloomed! I was so happy i started crying because i couldn’t believe i successfully raised my first plant and healthy too without any stumps. There was one problem though the other one that would’ve bloomed unfortunately my cat got to it before it had a chance so i had to cut it i now keep my doors shut when i leave. But i’m still exhilarated to see my beautiful flower everyday and i know the other one will grow back.🩷

Welcome to the wonderful world of plants, and congratulations on your new blooms; you’ve really done a great job! One thing I wanted to mention, just in case you weren’t aware, if you have a kitty, many plants can be toxic, so be careful; your kitty is going to love your plants as much as you do, and many of them aren’t good for her!

Yes! I’ve been keeping him out my room and keeping up to date which of my plants are toxic like my chives i’ve made sure to keep him away from those.

Well done, Jeaniebean… always be observant, and you and your kitty can enjoy your plants together… (as she chews the ends off all of your favorite plants …LOL!)

Congratulations! You’re a plant person!😂 Watching plants flourish under our care is addictive and gives a big feeling of accomplishment. Plants are emotional support “animals” that bring a lot of joy. Keep sharing. Ask for help when needed!

I’m pleased to be able to enjoy with you our plant 🪴 journeys. Jeaniebean how did you come up with the idea to grow your paperwhites? That’s something I would like to try but I’m a complete novice 🤪
