I just got this little guy. He’s so pretty😊 I ordered him from Crimson Horticultural Rarities. He arrived in very good condition! Planta says he’s hard to care for, so I hope I do well as his new plant mom! Any tips appreciated🫶🏻 Alocasia Baginda Dragon Scale
The main thing that puts alocasia in the “expert” category is their high need for humidity. They need to be in a room that is artificially humidified unless you live in a very humid climate and your indoor humidity is high. Heating and air conditioning usually take most of the humidity out of indoor air. Misting won’t cut it. Some people buy glass display cases and put little humidifiers inside. So if your little plant starts to go south, that will be the most likely reason. Also, in my experience, alocasias prefer semi hydro rather than potting soil. If you can do those two things your beautiful little plant will most certainly thrive.

0개 좋아요 I would let it adjust to your home for a few days and try not to move it around too much. If it’s dry, I’d water it.

I LOVE plants that move. Probably way prayer plants are my top favs. They are so fun to watch how they move all day! The first prayer plant I got I ordered in the mail. I remember every single leaf was sticking straight up. When I got home later they were all down. Haha, then I realized why they were calling prayer plants. Now I have like 9 different ones. Very cool!

0개 좋아요 I have 11 I think, haha. There are a lot. I’m not home right now but when I get home I’ll list all that I have. It’s so fun waking up in the morning and seeing them and then come night when they move again. It’s so neat.
