Ever buy a pot with regret? - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Self: But the pot looked so cute. 😊 Miranda Plant: Bless your heart. No drainage. Non-porous. No matching pale cerulean saucer (why is no one ready.) Our own little coffins for our trip on the Titanic II. And you thought “So cute” that we’d die in this.😒 - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Drainage. Ok, yes there was no drainage hole at all. Not even a stopper covering a hole, nor a dent to place a hole. I carefully used my Dremel and I put an adequate single hole in the bottom of the small pot. No matching pale cerulean saucer. Well with no hole it didn’t need a saucer. I keep looking for one though out of the bargain bins. Non-porous. Ok yes not as porous as clay but I only throughly water the succulent when the dirt has turned to rock because it’s so dried out. There are two types succulents in here. That tiny bud, lower right, was a leaf that fell on the floor from a different succulent and so I threw it in this pot too. All living in this pot for at least a year.

Maybe look for a glass or crystal dish at thrift shops? Not an exact match, but something that coordinates.

I do not know why any pot should ever come to market without a hole in the bottom. Even a starter hole would be helpful. I’m guessing it was not just “not enough prescriptions” that killed Rite-Aid (may you RIP with old friends Woolworth’s, Thom McCann, and Buster Browne.) The two pots on the left were Rite-Aid “awe aren’t they cute” death pots that I had to drill holes into in the bottom. The pot on the right, purchased in a garden store around me, is extremely porous with its cute little saucer.

Another successful Dremel drilling! Bought these two, might be three, from Home Depot Oct 2025. I think they were $2.99 each back then, or something really cheap or I would not have bought them. And they are great for pot in pot items EXCEPT FOR THE FACT not many pls TD need a tiny pot inside a small pot. Tiny succulents always grow into small succulents. Right now I’m only gonna drill one of them to see what we live inside this considering it’s not completely porous. It is a clay pot, made in Portugal, but it’s a glazed clay pot. For all of us mathematicians, the pots top, the opening, is a 3 in. diameter, or 7.62 cm.

My main pot regret is that grocery store orchids always come with very bland decor pots with no drainage. I buy for the plants but the pots just keep coming. Idk what to do with them; I'm trying my hand at breeding orchids, so hopefully I can sell off a few pots with my extra seedlings
