The nice thing about fuchsiaās, at least the ones I have, is that they come back year after year. I just let them go dormant, and they get watered by whatever rain we have⦠(which is a lot because Iām in Oregonā¦). I do fertilize mine with a liquid fertilizer, even though Planta says itās not necessary; I find if I donāt, my blooms get smaller. They do need a fair amount of water, so you donāt want to let them dry out too much. Another reason I love fuchsias, is that hummingbirds, which I also love, like to sip nectar from the flowers, and that is a favorite pastime of ours! Itās so much fun to see who comes each day to drink their dinner⦠not that we have many, just a few here and there, but thatās enough to watch and enjoy. I think the coloring of your fuchsia will be a calling card to the little Hummers in your area. Good luck in your new adventures with your beautiful new fuchsia! If youāre able, Iād love to hear, and see, how are your fuchsia is progressing! TIA! PS. Iāve sent you a picture of one of my fuchsias. Unfortunately, weāve had very high temperatures, in the upper 90s, and sheās lost a lot of her blooms prematurely. Sheās called a double, which you can see how the petals are doubled in the white part of her flowers. She is quite a beauty, and it will be once again, especially when the temperatures get back to normal.
