I just joined your group today and I’m a little disappointed. I have been taking pictures of plants that are definitely sick. And yet AI is telling me that they are healthy. What am I doing wrong?

Sometimes posting pictures of sick plants to the community helps more than AI! Give all important information in your post, put it in the right community, and members will probably be pretty helpful. AI doesn’t always catch everything so listing symptoms and providing clear pictures has helped me more when the right people see it! Good luck, I hope your plants recover soon!

Hi, Martha. I’m sorry your plants aren’t doing well. In all honesty, I don’t use the AI features on this app. I try to avoid AI features in general both for the lack of accuracy and how its use elsewhere will likely lead to the loss of jobs and a general inability to do things for ourselves down the line. What makes this app great is the people on it, not the Dr. Planta features. I joined this app because you can learn much more accurate information from very sweet people that are happy to help and teach anyone new to houseplants. The people that answer on the groups have always been very sweet and polite, and I’ve learned a lot from them since jointing this app. I’m really sorry to hear you’re not enjoying the app so far, but I’d recommend taking Sofia’s advice and snapping some photos of your plants and posting them either in the ā€œAnything about plantsā€ or ā€œpests, diseases, and problemsā€ groups. Hope you start having a better experience here. ā˜€ļø

Martha something you can try with Dr Planta is disagreeing with the diagnosis. And make sure you tell Dr what you see is wrong, such as ā€œthe leaves are brown and crispyā€. If Dr says all is good then say ā€œthat doesn’t make sense so why are the leaves brown thenā€. I have done this several times at it often leads to a better diagnosis.

I have gotten into a bit of an argument with the Dr by saying ā€œno that is not correctā€. Just talk back and forth like it’s a person.

I have conversations with Alexa too. Just for the fun of it. But AI is not always correct and when you disagree it will seek a more logical answer.
