My very first plant! My friend got me into plants recently and my first one is this beautiful fern who I named “Boots with the Fern”!

First post here on Planta, I just really wanted to show off my beautifuuulllll asparagus fern💚 she is one of my favoritest babies🪴 growing like crazy, even through the winter 🙂

Fred’s been repotted, thanks to the advice of another lovely user. I’m hoping he turns around, and that this pot is better for him He doesn’t have drainage holes in this one, but this is the best thing I had for him right now, so new pots are on the gardening list for sure

Hey first time with a fern kinda jumping but slight yellowing and very dry leaves. I’m watering when dry I did just repot when I noticed that there was clumps of dirt sticking and holding water around/on roots. I tried to break as much dirt off as possible with out hurting the roots but from what I can collect that would cause dry leaves.

I used to have a fern that I absolutely adored. Its name was Ferny and I had it in a hanging pot in my bedroom. Loved her so much but unfortunately because I am so bad at taking care of plants, it ultimately died. 😢😢😢 my heart has finally healed so I just got some new plants. Not ferns tho. I need more time. Found a pic of Ferny!

I admired my friends maidenhair, it’s growing outside in Pacific Grove California. He gave me a small one and told me it was time to repot. I went up from a 4” pot to a 6” and used a mix of miracle grow and some orchid bark to give it extra drainage. I have put it on my porch, shady & cool now. I’ve killed every single one I’ve had in the past. Never tried outside though. Any tips, tricks you can give me would be appreciated.

Hi, I have a very healthy Boston fern but I’m just wondering when would be an appropriate time to report it? There doesn’t appear to be any roots pushing out of the bottom of the pot, but the plant does seem very big for the pot It is currently in. Open suggestions, thank you.

My sword fern has browning leaves at just the base, but everywhere else is lush and green. Is there anything wrong with my fern?

Can anyone guide me on this Frosty Fern? It had white tips. My daughter, who’s good with plants, tried to help.

Hi friends! So I just bought a Rabbits foot fern this fall and I fell in love ! I’ve never been in to ferns much but now I really would like to get more, I’m not too fond of Boston ferns but what are some other ferns I can grow outside of a terrarium? I have 60-70% ambient humidity and grow lights available. Shoot me your favorites👇🏼

I was gifted this beauty on my birthday back in October. I’ve been doing really good with this Fern! But we have hit a wall and I think we are dying 😭 I repotted, trimmed up and made sure everything was right but somewhere I’m wrong! Anything helps!!!

I have tried twice with this plant and it’s been a 👎 (lemon button) I think this one needs more humidity.. but I feel like I cannot find the right lighting needed. I am also wondering how to revive it and become bushier. I did not repot this plant when I got it. Help 😭
